We had lots of really good low carb food this Christmas.

The low carb Rum Balls were great!

Baked Custard is a Christmas morning tradition in my home. I used
my age old recipe but  substituted xylitol for the regular sugar and
it was excellent.

Everyone enjoyed it! No one knew it was different.
(I didn’t tell them I made a sugar switch until after breakfast – bad, I know).

The day after Christmas for a change of flavors I made a crock pot full of
Low Carb Texas Chili. Fantastic!

Hi Everyone,
I know you’ve heard me say many times that L3 is not a diet. What is it then? I’m still working on a
descriptive and succinct definition. Here’s one. It’s an integrated quantum communication and awareness
process for radiant health, happiness and longevity with weight loss as a side effect.

L3’s fourfold process includes a nutritional program but because of how wrongly we’ve been programmed
about ourselves and how we think, feel and do “diets” in the last 5 decades that word doesn’t fit.

There are several key distinctions that make L3 very different from a diet. The primary thing I’d like to address
in this newsletter is that everything can be viewed or paid attention to as energy, and as a symptom or condition
to “tweak” towards greater health.

Picture a big mixer console like sound technician’s use in concerts. The bigger the concert, the more dials and
knobs. Some of those consoles have hundreds of dials and knobs and all of them tweak the sound in some way.

The sound tech’s job above all else is to get the “right” sound. The skill of the sound tech can make or break any
performance. Every performer, performance and venue has many different “tweaks” of hundreds of dials and knobs
to get the “right sound”. Not knowing how to dial in the right quality of sound would be disastrous to the quality of the
performance.
It’s the same with us. We are doing something very similar, but thank goodness for us we might only have
20 knobs to “tweak” to get us to and keep us in radiant good health, happiness and longevity.

Now when we haven’t been paying quality attention to ourselves, developing important awareness skills,
the prospect of paying attention to 20 or so qualities might feel overwhelming. Remember when you first
learned to drive a car? It’s second nature now but in the beginning there was a lot to pay attention to.

What are our dials and knobs that we pay attention to for “tweaking”?

Using a scale of 0 (low, poor, uncomfortable) to 10 (great, optimal) you are always paying attention to
and making distinctions as to whether you are feeling worse, same or better as in moving away from or
towards an optimal 10.

The following might sound overwhelming and extreme but I promise you, becoming a skilled aware
technician of yourself is easier than learning to drive. And you will learn all the tools you’ll need in
the first 3 weeks.

Here are a few of the main qualities to pay attention to and “tweak”:
Remember, these are the polar ends of our 0 to 10 distinctions/measurements.

* Uncomfortable / uncontrollable hunger ~~~ Satisfied, calm and peaceful about hunger and appetite.
* Food, carb or sugar cravings ~~~ Appetite easily satisfied and peaceful, no cravings at all.
* Poor digestion, upset upper and or lower stomach issues, fullness, bloating ~~~ Robust good digestion.
* Poor elimination: too infrequent, hard, slow, or too frequent, soft, loose ~~~ Great elimination for you, just right.
* Gaining weight, not losing, feeling fuller, thicker, retaining fluids ~~~ Losing weight, inches, feeling leaner, lighter, taller.
* Low tired dragging energy ~~~ Great robust and sustainable energy.
* Too stressed, tense, nervous ~~~ Calm, peaceful, can easily relax.
* Not enough sleep, wakeful, insomina, wake up tired ~~~ Generally, plenty of good quality sleep, wake refreshed.
* Moody, angry, depressed, stuck, emotionally sensitive, PMS, menopause ~~~ Positive, feel good/optimistic about self, others and life.
* Fuzzy thinking, poor memory, busy or hyper mind ~~~ Clear thinking, good memory/recall, easy focus, relaxed calm mind.
* Sore, achy, (skin, bones, joints, feeling toxic) inflammatory conditions ~~~ Feeling strong, healthy, younger.

That’s easy…only 22 knobs to tweak.

It’s important to say again, this might sound overwhelming and extreme but I promise you, becoming a skilled
aware technician of yourself is easier than learning to drive.

With this program you are not muscling, struggling, suffering or using will power to change yourself. You are not trying
to fix yourself or figure out what’s wrong or how you’ve failed, or your bad habits or faulty family genes.

You are generally paying attention to how you feel each day and at each meal, making distinctions and using chemistry,
i.e. food; fat, protein, carbs, fiber, water, boosters, rest, oxygen, play, peace and quiet, love, etc. to communicate with
and instruct your bodymind to do what it is designed to naturally – which is to keep you healthy, happy and living a long
creative life.

Inside the Lovely, Lively and Lean program parameters the general guideline is: If it feels good do it or keep doing it.
If it feels bad tweak it until it feels good. If it’s hard, uncomfortable, discouraging, stressful, painful, or the like, don’t
tolerate it, tweak it until if feels better, then tweak it until it feels great.

1. Once you learn how to pay attention
*to yourself as energy
* to the quality of your energy and chemistry

2. Then “tweak” or “dial in”
*your foods and conditions towards your most optimal feel good energy

3. Then, you will NOT have to be sick, fat or tolerate low suffering energy again.

Tweaking Tip: Pay attention: You will know quite quickly – in a meal or two or a day to three – if your “tweaking” has gotten
you the results you desire. Your results will be yes/better, no/worse, or no change/hard to tell yet. Don’t’ allow or tolerate
an unworkable symptom or condition to continue.

* SuperBrain Yoga and Other Important Energy Exercises
The following exercises are ones that I do regularly and I believe will be valuable for you too.
There are just 3 of them and take less than 10 minutes total.

Number 1: Super Brain Yoga. I do this twice a day…morning and evening.

This YouTube video is a channel 2 YouTube link about Super Brain Yoga. It gives you information
about it, and shows you how to do the posture and the movement. The only other thing additionally
to know is that you do the movement 14 times in a row inhaling through your nose on the way down
and exhaling through your mouth on the way back up.

Number 2: The Bodytalk System: The Cortices Technique…l do this at least twice a day and sometimes more.

Number 3: Donna Eden 5 Minutes A Day Energy Routine. I do this routine most days once in the morning.

Together these exercises are less than 10 minutes worth of powerful, balancing, and tuning techniques
for your brain and bodymind.

* Yummy Low Carb Chocolate Holiday Rum Balls

You can whip these treats up in 5 minutes, and they make great gifts for the low-carber in your life.
Vary the amount and kind of liquor to taste—if you cut down, just replace the rest with water, or sugar-free flavored syrup.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:
1 C almond flour (best without the skins)
½ C cocoa powder
2 Tablespoons butter, softened to room temperature
2 Tablespoons powdered xylitol, erythritol, or other sugar alcohol
½ teaspoon vanilla
2 Tablespoons rum, brandy, whiskey, etc. – vary according to taste.
½ C powdered sugar substitute – xylitol, erythritol, or other sugar alcohol.

1. Mix all dry ingredients together in bowl.

2. Add vanilla and liquor. If the artificial sweetener is liquid and concentrated, add it to the liquor.
since there are different liquid sweeteners of different concentrations you may have to play
with the total amount of liquid, and cut down on the liquor, or add water. Usually the total liquid
you want is the 2.5 to 3 tablespoons. Add the liquid slowly and mix until it all comes together.

3. Roll into balls.

The flavors will mellow over the next few days. Store in covered container in refrigerator or cool place.

Carb count depends on the serving size. 17 balls will get you exactly 1 gram of effective carbohydrates per ball,
plus a little over a gram of alcohol and 1.5 grams of fiber.

Leptin, Reverse T3 Meds and My Promise

and the problem of not being able to lose weight.

That said, it might be prudent for anyone with say 50
to 100 pounds or more of  weight to lose, even if you are not

want all of the good, workable help we can get!

I’m going to check with the local gynecologist/hormone expert
that I’ve been working with. Last year she didn’t know about Leptin
but I think she may be coming up to  speed these days and will

what he knows since Rosedale’s specialties are diabetes,
and everything related to cell and metabolic freeze and
meltdown issues.

 NO NEED FOR CALORIE RESTRICTION
I recommend you don’t do anything with calorie
restriction. It’s extreme, painful and not necessary.
Extreme Calorie Restriction (ECR) once was the
standard teaching for anti aging and longevity.


PRIMAL SURVIVAL MECHANISM IS THE PROBLEM
The discovery of leptin and other white fat hormones and
what we’ve  learned since  then about our energy, metabolism,
fat buring  processes, how its all connected to our immune
system and our brain and primal survival mechanisms

You Have a Brain in Your Gut

You Have a Brain in Your Gut?

That’s right, you do.

This exciting information can give you back your vitality and your mind.

You have a bundle of nerves and gray and white brain matter in your gut.
It’s in the epigastric region, just in back of the “pit of our stomach”, on either
side of the spinal column. This abdominal brain as western writers call it, has

The area is called the solar plexus for a reason and it’s so named because

Sit quietly and gently fill your gut with air, breathing slowly and easily in
through your nose and empty the air out through your mouth.

Place your hand on your abdomen and see your hand rising on the inhale,
and lowering on the exhale. Do this one to 5 minutes or more several times
a day.


A healthy relaxed gut gives you a more healthy efficent brain and
a vital energy system.

Leaning to relax your gut will allow your nerve force to flow unrestricted to your
brain and the rest of your body giving  you more energy and vitality.


It will also help you relax

♥ your jaw
♥ the creases between your eyes
♥ improve your eyesight
♥ relax your neck and shoulders
♥ allow you to have more fun and joy

Strengthen Your Core to  Recover Your Power
The connection? Everything you do to strengthen your core, strengthens
your gut and brain and helps your body.

When your core becomes strong an interesting thing starts to happen.
You become stronger. You begin to have more power and confidence
which translates into the ability to take more action and that ability gives
you more self esteem.


DO Crunches: I call them Self Esteem Crunches.
Crunches help strengthen your gut. They strengthen your abdominal
muscles and give you more confidence.

Remember. Your Hypothalamus in it’s well meaning but misguided attempt
to save you from starvation suppressed your metabolism. That act also took
your ability to have your full energy and take effective action in the world.

I’ll say it again another way: Your power became diminished when it was
suppressed by your ancient brain at the time your metabolism became
suppressed to save your life.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was only doing its job, but guess what?

It’s time to WAKE UP!  The hibernation of famine is OVER!

Doing any consistent core strengthening exercise will increase your

I’ve lost 50 pounds now and excited at how easy it is.

As of today I lost 2 more pounds…that makes 50  pounds altogether in only 10 months.

I’m excited!

I’m amazed and happy that it’s happening to me. It’s hard to believe sometimes even
though I’m not only living it, I’m helping more and more women do the same every day. 

The thing I love the most about it is how easy it is. Sometimes I just shake my head and chuckle.

I do feel like a cheer leader sometimes and for goodness sakes, if you had my results and the
results of the women I’ve been working with you’d be excited and telling everyone too.

So, at first when I told people how easy it was to feel great, have more energy, feel younger
and lose weight without using any will power or effort, they’d smile politely and nod their heads.

I knew what they were thinking.

They were thinking, “OH, YEAH, RIGHT! EASY FOR YOU!
BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.”

I thought the same thing at first too.

So how about this.

I don’t weigh myself very often but Sunday night I realized the last time my scale dropped
was mid June after I got back from my daughter’s wedding in Utah. Five days and nights of
partying and making  merry and I still lost 2 1/2 pounds.

Even though I’m still toning and losing inches I felt I might be getting too much protein. So
I recalculated my protein requirements and made sure each day this week that I ate only
the amount of protein I personally need and Voila!

I’m down 2 pounds today. A little protein tweaking and my natural fat burning process accelerates
again.

Weight Loss is Easy When You

Know The Truth.

The fault is our ignorance about how our own bodies work.

We have an obesity epidemic in our country that’s affecting
primarily women, and the cause is lack of knowledge.

Exciting Turning Point

We’re at an exciting turning point in our knowledge and
understanding about how our metabolism actually works.
In 1994 scientists discovered a hormone called leptin.

It’s a hormone manufactured in white fat. White fat is not
something to liposuction. It is an endocrine gland and part
of our endocrine system.

What’s most important to us lay people and those of with
compromised health and weight problems is that leptin is
the king of hormones.

Leptin tells all the other hormones what to do and none
of the other hormones tell leptin what to do.

Leptin is the primary lord and governor of our energy;
the  acquisition, production, utilization, and elimination
of energy.

And of course, we get our energy from food.

Leptin is a very important hormone. Among other
things it tells the brain

- when you are hungry
- when you’ve had enough to eat
-  how much energy you need at any given time
-  how much energy is stored as fat for future use
- how much energy is needed for all the other
   vital processes of living
- coordinates energy usage with all the other
  hormones, systems and processes in our bodies.

All hormones work in harmony with the hypothalamus,
the ancient brain, to make sure we function optimally for
our survival. Or at least thats the optimal blueprint. 

By the way, hormones are messengers.
They don’t do the work in our bodies, they signal what
work needs doing. Fatty acids are the worker bees in
our bodies.

 
Two Ancient Foes

We had two primary ancient foes in our beginnings.

1. Animals that wanted to eat us and
2.  Starvation: not enough of food to survive.

Our ancient brain with it’s  primal survival mechanism
(PSM) still monitors whether we are in feast or danger
or famine modes today.
 

Guess what triggers the messages to our ancient
brain?

For our purposes I’ll round them off to


3 basic primal survival messages (PSM) and
responses.


PSM #1.
Feast. When we’re relaxed and not
stressed our vigilant ever watchful ancient brain
gets the “all clear, everything is ok” message.  Our
energy producing fat burning metabolism functions
steady and optimal and so do all of our other systems.

In this mode we are efficient fat burning machines with
all of our systems working in harmony.


PSM #2.
Being chased by a hungry animal we
automatically get adrenaline and related chemicals and
sugar pumped into our bloodstream to take flight or fight.

It’s a quick and jolting response; big chemical and sugar
surge that dissipates when we get to safety.


PSM #3.
Long term stress tells the brain there’s a famine
threat requiring protection from starvation.
Remember, the ancient brain only knows feast, danger,
and  famine.

The brain body response is to shut down the metabolism
to conserve energy to get us through the famine and store
as much food intake as possible in the form of fat for future
energy needs.


The name of the ancient game is survival at all costs.

Fast forward to today. Stress is the name of the game
and it has no end.

As a society we’re addicted to stress, and the stress
we call normal is killing us.


Storing fat is still a survival response to famine.


Even thought you have plenty to eat your brain still thinks
you’re in 
danger of starving.

So leptin, the king of hormones, keeps trying to deliver
“there’s plenty of food, stop eating, stop storing fat”
message to our dutiful ancient brain but our brain isn’t
getting that message.

Your brain is getting the other message. The “stress means
famine” message so it isn’t listening to leptin -  now you have
leptin resistance.

Your hypothalamus has your metabolism and energy locked
down as low as it can go and still function, and stores as much
as it can of what you eat as fat.

As long as you are in this mode, you keep gaining weight,
losing energy and experiencing declining health from the
resulting immune system interference and inflammatory
responses.


Sugar Signals the Brain’s Primal Survival Mechanism

If you have more than 1 scant teaspoon of sugar in your
entire bloodstream at any one time it signals the brain
that something is wrong and interprets it as stress and
famine.

Since about World War 2 we have retrained our
bodies to burn sugar as our primary fuel which we
all know now has many levels and layers of health
damaging consequences.

The results: 68% of all women in the US are overweight
with half of that number being obese. 70% of all doctors
office visits are by women with avoidable lifestyle related
problems. 50% of all children in the US under the age of
12 are obese.

What’s the solution?  It’s Easy!

It’s easy to turn this primal survival mechanism (PSM)
around and it’s immediate and effortless to get it to work
for you instead of against you.
